Culture

Hugsmiðjan is more than a workplace. We're a close-knit team with the ambition of creating forward-looking solutions with close cooperation, integrity and expertise.

What we value

Our culture is built on mutual respect, result-oriented thinking and responsibility. We take our projects seriously but don't get sidetracked with tiny details.

Good communication underlies the results we've seen. We say what we think, because we know that straightforward and clear communications are the key to effective teamwork. We question basic assumptions and approaches, but never our efforts, intentions or ambitions.

We respect our time, and other people's time. We work with direction under time constraints, and know the value of our time. If we see that we can't reach a deadline, we bring it up immediately — we don't wait and hope.

We approach all projects with confidence, and take responsibility for our mistakes. We learn from them, correct them and share our knowledge. We believe that effective teams help one another, and offer each other help when we have something worth sharing.

We are ambitious, result-oriented, and we care.

"Curiosity and responsibility are in the grain of Hugsmiðjan's culture, where professionalism and a light atmosphere create the grounds for creative thinking. We make space — for growth, continuing education and nourishing the spirit. When people can thrive, the projects become larger and, in a way, more fitting."

– Margeir Steinar Ingólfsson, acting board director at Hugsmiðjan

The route we've taken

For over two decades we've worked with a wide range of clients, met demanding challenges, and built up valuable insights that have led to effective solutions. We've received a number of recognitions along the way — but the main one is the results from those solutions we've created.
